Aurélie Vial is a french director / video artist born in 1983 in Marseille.
After studying History of Art in Aix-Marseille University and graduating with a BA in Filmmaking at Met School (Thames University of London), Aurélie has been working for different cinema projects in London and Barcelona.
In 2011, she started to work for several cinema festivals in Paris and Marseille : Paris Cinéma, FIDMarseille, RISC (Marseille). She also occasionally collaborates with the record company K7 in Berlin.
In 2011, she came back to Marseille to co-found Alter Echoes, a digital art specialized collective.
Through this project, she has worked with different artists and has set up Unsettled, an audiovisual live performance as well as two installations, Dark Matter and Black Box.
In 2013, she collaborated with the band Abstraxion with whom she will direct three videos that will take part in an audiovisual / digital live set up for the Break of lights tour.
In 2015, she takes part in audiovisual collaborations : with Julien Bayle for the Secret thirteen blog and with Isolaa, a collective from Lyon (France).
Since then she carries on different projects that emphasize the interaction between sound and images as well as digital creation.
Her approach is aimed at the instinctive and sensitive universe of the viewer by immersing him in the set up of disturbing installations, via spaces, sounds and a singular scenography.
